We supply Spyda AC ceiling fans to homeowners, builders and electricians fitting out bedrooms, living areas and covered alfresco spaces. This range is matched to how a room gets used and how it's finished, not just how much air it moves, which is why it carries the widest finish selection in the Ventair line-up. Filter by sweep, blade count, light option and finish, then pick up a size-matched remote or extension rod from our Ventair ceiling fan accessories.

Why choose a Ventair Spyda AC ceiling fan

The Spyda AC is the fan people pick when they want the ceiling to look finished. It's the only Ventair range we carry in Teak, Walnut, Bamboo and Titanium, and it comes with a three-blade or four-blade option, so it suits homes where the fan sits in full view of the kitchen or living area rather than tucked away in a spare room.

It's built for Australian conditions too. The moulded polycarbonate composite blades and UV-protected, corrosion-resistant components are rated for indoor, covered outdoor and commercial use, and the plain (no-light) models are listed as suitable for coastal homes. Every Spyda AC reverses for winter, suits raked ceilings up to 18°, runs on Japanese bearings, and comes with a six-year warranty (two years in-home plus four years motor replacement).

Explore Spyda AC ceiling fans by type

  • 3-blade Spyda AC fans: The classic Spyda profile, in every size from 900mm to 1570mm and every finish in the range.
  • 4-blade Spyda AC fans: A more balanced, symmetrical look in 1250mm and 1400mm, in Matte Black, Titanium, Teak and Satin White.
  • Spyda AC fans with LED light: A 20W dimmable LED panel with three switchable colour temperatures (warm 3000K, natural 4200K and cool 6500K) and around 2050 lumens.
  • Spyda AC fans without a light: Fan-only models for rooms already lit by downlights, or for covered outdoor areas where you don't want a light drawing insects to the ceiling.

Shop by finish

The Spyda AC comes in six finishes: Satin White, Matte Black, Titanium, Teak, Walnut and Bamboo. Customers who've only seen the timber looks on a screen are usually surprised by how convincing the grain is in person, and Walnut tends to win over people who walked in set on matte black. Titanium is the one we point people to when they want something softer than black that won't look stark against warm timber floors.

What we'd check before you buy

Your ceiling height. Blades need to sit at least 2.1m off the floor. On a standard 2.4m ceiling, that's tight once you add a light panel underneath, so measure first. For raked or higher ceilings, Spyda AC extension rods come in 450mm, 600mm and 900mm, with a 1200mm option in Satin White. Rods are colour-matched, and the timber-look fans take Matte Black rods.

Whether you want a remote. Every Spyda AC comes with a three-speed wall control, so a remote is optional. If you do want one, Spyda AC remotes are matched to sweep, with one for 900mm fans, another for 1250mm and 1400mm, and a third for 1570mm. Check the model number on the fan's listing before ordering, and buy it at the same time as the fan so your electrician can fit the receiver in one visit.

Your light colour. Most people only think about whether they want a light, not what colour it'll be. The tri-colour LED lets you switch between warm, natural and cool white, and in our experience bedrooms almost always end up on warm.

Three or four blades. Airflow between the two is very close at the same size, so this is mostly a looks decision. Four blades read as more traditional and balanced, while three blades look lighter and more contemporary from below.

Sweep against the room. A 1570mm Spyda looks enormous in a 3.5m-wide bedroom even when it technically fits. If you're between sizes for a bedroom, we'd usually go down.

Ventair Spyda AC ceiling fan prices at Buildmat

Spyda AC fans start at around $250 for a 900mm Satin White and around $270 for a plain 1250mm three-blade. Most 1250mm and 1400mm fans without a light, including the four-blade models in black and Titanium, sit between around $315 and $450. Adding an LED light or stepping up to a timber-look finish moves a 1400mm fan into the around $440 to $615 range. The 1570mm models run from around $470 for a plain white or black up to around $690 for Walnut or Bamboo with an LED light. Remotes and extension rods are sold separately, and installation by a licensed electrician is required.

FAQS

Yes, every Spyda AC fan has a reverse mode. Run it forward in summer for a cooling breeze, then reverse it in winter to push warm air down from the ceiling.
Yes, under cover. Spyda AC fans use corrosion-resistant, UV-protected components and are rated for indoor, covered outdoor and commercial use. The fan-only models are also listed as suitable for coastal homes.
The motor and the finishes. Spyda DC fans use a lower-power DC motor with wall control and come in black or white. Spyda AC fans use Ventair's True-Spin AC motor and are the only Spyda option in Teak, Walnut, Bamboo, Titanium and four-blade designs.
Choose on looks, not airflow. At the same sweep size, airflow is very similar between the two. Four blades suit more traditional or symmetrical rooms, while three blades look lighter and more modern.
