Large Kitchen Sinks Made to Handle Big-Cook Workloads
Large kitchen sinks deliver the space, strength, and style needed for serious meal prep and cleanup.
Designed for Australian homes and busy family kitchens, these generous basins combine robust stainless steel sinks, composite granite, or fireclay construction with thoughtful detailing, ensuring room for every kind of pot, pan, and prep bowl.
Built for High-Volume Performance
Buildmat’s skilled craftsmen hand-weld each sink, meticulously shaping every corner and ensuring each wall is a genuine 1.5 mm-thick stainless steel panel, rather than relying on a machine to stretch a thinner sheet into form.
- Extra-Deep Bowls: Up to 250 mm depth accommodates large stockpots, serving trays, and baking sheets with ease.
- Heavy-Duty Construction: 1.5 mm-thick 304-grade stainless steel or reinforced composite high-quality granite resists dents, scratches, and heat.
- Sound-Deadening Pads: Undercoating that helps minimise noise from running water and clanking cookware.
- Integrated Drainer Channels: Subtle grooves guide runoff from built-in drainers or drainer boards directly into the sink.
Configurations to Suit Every Kitchen
Find the perfect sink configuration tailored to your kitchen’s demands: whether you need extra room for bulky cookware, smoother prep-to-cleanup flow, a dash of character, or a seamless benchtop finish.
-
Single-Bowl Kitchen Sinks: One uninterrupted basin maximises capacity, perfect for oversized cookware and multi-step prep.
-
Double-Bowl Sinks: Combine a large main bowl with a secondary prep or rinse basin, enhancing functionality during busy cooking sessions.
-
Farmhouse Sinks: Exposed fronts and wide bowls add farmhouse charm while offering full-depth utility.
Sink Installation Styles
Topmount Sinks
The most popular choice, topmount sinks drop into a benchtop cutout and secure instantly with pull-down clips. Designed for stone, laminate, or timber benches, Builsmat’s stainless steel single-bowl and double-bowl inset sinks lock firmly in place without extra hardware or sealants.
Undermount Sinks
For a seamless, countertop-level finish, choose an undermount sink (available in single and double bowls). Because it requires precise cutouts and cabinetry alignment, it’s best to select and supply your sink to the cabinetmaker early in the build. Opt for a model without a tap hole so your mixer mounts directly on the bench for a clean, elegant look.
Style & Finishes
- Brushed Stainless Steel: Timeless sheen that pairs effortlessly with any kitchen tapware or kitchen mixer taps.
- Brushed Brass Gold: Durable, modern finishes that add contrast and sophistication to contemporary or industrial schemes.
