Price and payment

  • When you place an Order, we will charge you and you agree to pay the Price and any applicable Delivery Fee.
  • All Prices are in Australian Dollars and, if GST applies, inclusive of GST. Any fees and charges (including Delivery Fees) imposed by these Terms also include GST where applicable.
  • Buildmat reserves the right to change or alter Prices without notice to you. If you have already submitted an Order at a particular Price, we will supply your Goods at that Price (unless your Order is affected by a pricing error).
  • Payment methods are specified on the Website or told to you at the time you place your Order. They include credit card, PayPal or Buy Now Pay Later options. The name on any credit card used for payment must match the name on the Order. Other methods of payment, including cash and credit account, can be used for In-Store Orders, but not for Orders placed through the Website or the Customer Service Centre. Cheques cannot be used as a payment method for any purchases from Buildmat, including Orders.
  • Any payment for an Order must be cleared by Buildmat before Goods are dispatched. If your payment cannot be processed, your Order will be rejected and you will be notified of this on the Website. If a credit card payment cannot be processed you should contact your card issuer to try to resolve the problem, or use an alternative payment method in order to continue with your Order.
  • In paying or attempting to pay for Goods, you agree that you have not engaged in any fraudulent conduct or contravened any Law
  • When you place an Order, we will charge you and you agree to pay the Price and any applicable Delivery Fee.

Returns - 7 day Change of Mind

(1) Restocking Fee of 20% of item costs and delivery charges incurred by Buildmat will be applied on Change of Mind Returns. It is based on the condition of the item. 

(2) Original shipping and handling charges are not refundable. 

(3) Buyer is responsible for payment of return postage for change of mind returns. 

(4) Not damaged in any way. Items must be in brand new and resalable condition with all original product packaging, labels and all other accessories included. 

(5) Any product that has been opened and/or used cannot be returned unless the unit was received defective.

We cannot accept change of mind returns on items that come in sealed packages or boxes where seals are damaged or broken. Any products returned without proper sealed packaging will be rejected under change of mind.

Warranty (Kitchen Sinks)

Buildmat Pty Ltd (ABN 71 601 992 527) warrants to the original purchaser of the product that under proper care, domestic/residential use and maintenance the products supplied by Buildmat, will be free from defects in workmanship and  materials  subject to the terms and conditions which follow. Buildmat’s warranty only applies to the original owner and is not transferable.

Buildmat and the manufacturer are constantly improving their products and as a result alterations to the specifications and dimensions of our products occur continually. Our warranty is in addition to other rights and remedies that you have under Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)). Buildmat reserves the right to modify warranty provisions without prior notification. Specific details of the warranty coverage will be determined by the warranty provisions at the time of the claim.

Buildmat provides an extended 25 year structural warranty from the time of purchase of the Stainless Steel Sink product and warrants that it is free from defects in the materials used to manufacture the products or as a result of workmanship in creation of the product. 

It is highly recommended that installation to be done by qualified and experienced plumbers, stonemasons or cabinet makers. All plumbing connections to the sink must be undertaken by a qualified plumber or cabinet maker.

Prior to installation of the sink it is the owner’s responsibility to check for any blemishes or imperfections, by installing the sink the owner accepts that the product is free of blemishes, or imperfections including scratches, dents, spotting, discolouration and rust.  

The stainless steel sink warranty will be void if:

  • There has been any damage to the sink (including but not limited to) due to misuse, accident, negligence, improper maintenance or other abuse or misuse, unusual physical or environmental conditions, abnormal stress or strain;
  • There has been damage to the stainless steel by chemical products or physical products, this is including but not limited to: metallic scouring pads, steel wool products, cast iron, bleaches, solvents, detergents, drain cleaning products or other liquids or agents which could lead to discolouration, staining or corrosion of the surface;
  • There has been any damage to the product that may have been caused during shipping, delivery, or installation;
  • It is the owner’s responsibility to check products within 24 hours upon delivery. This is to ensure the order has arrived safely with no transit damage.  Should any issue arise, please notify us within 7 days so we can proceed accordingly.
    Should you not require the products immediately and require storing the items away, we recommend and highly advise to check before storing products away. This step will ensure that the products are in good condition and avoid disappointment or reduce future issues/delays.

  • The product has been modified or altered in any way;

  • Products are not installed in accordance to any relevant national or state standards or regulations;
  • The product was purchased under the heading or label as a “clearance” or any other reference to the goods being sold at less than the recommended retail price
  • The customer cannot provide proof of purchase or equivalent documentation;
  • Other devices are fitted to the product (e.g. insinkerators) that are not within the products installation instructions;
  • Scratching, denting, rusting, spotting or discolouration is not covered by Buildmat’s warranty;
  • Damage to from exposure to salt water or caused by being in close proximity to salt water
  • Damage to the product is caused by a failure to regularly clean;
  • Damages to the product is caused by adhesives, sealants or abrasive or harsh cleaners.
  • Manufacturers care and maintenance instructions are not observed and adhered to

If a consumer makes a valid claim under our extended warranty and none of warranty void exclusions have been met to deem the warranty void, Buildmat, will at it’s discretion:

  • Repair the relevant part of the product; or
  • Replace the relevant part of the product with a product of identical specification, or where the product is no longer in stock a product that is of a similar specification.

Buildmat will not be liable for any related to the product or installation of the product or removal of the product. Buildmat will not be liable for any claims for labour, additional product or parts associated with the faulty product or repair work related to the faulty product. Buildmat will not be liable for any consequential costs or losses related to the products purchased from Buildmat.

Buildmat will not be liable to the consumer for any damage, loss, injures , actions, claims, costs or expenses out of the use of or reliance on the product.

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

We reserve the right to limit the quantities of any products or services that we offer. All descriptions of products or product pricing are subject to change at anytime without notice, at the sole discretion of us. We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time. We do not warrant that the quality of any products, services, information, or other material purchased or obtained by you will meet your expectations, or that any errors in the Service will be corrected.

We reserve the right to refuse any order you place with us. We may, in our sole discretion, limit or cancel quantities purchased per person, per household or per order. These restrictions may include orders placed by or under the same customer account, the same credit card, and/or orders that use the same billing and/or shipping address. In the event that we make a change to or cancel an order, we may attempt to notify you by contacting the e‑mail and/or billing address/phone number provided at the time the order was made. We reserve the right to limit or prohibit orders that, in our sole judgment, appear to be placed by dealers, resellers or distributors.

You agree to provide current, complete and accurate purchase and account information for all purchases made at our store. You agree to promptly update your account and other information, including your email address and credit card numbers and expiration dates, so that we can complete your transactions and contact you as needed.

SECTION 20 - WARRANTIES

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonable foreseeable loss or damage.  You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail  to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major   failure. 

This warranty is for normal domestic use only (not  commercial)

Any defect or injury caused by or resulting from misuse, abuse or neglect, accidental damage, improper installation, or installation by a non-licensed  plumber.

Any defect of injury caused by or resulting from products installed in a way that was contrary to any applicable national, State or local standards or regulatory  requirements.

Any defect, damage or injury caused by or resulting from the effects of hard water, inadequate flushing of system, or failure to clean and replace outlet aerator inserts or other alterations or modifications which affect the reliability of performance of the  product

Damage to finishes by adhesives or  sealants

Defects or injury caused by or resulting from installation of product in situations outside of the Australian standards for plumbing installation

Damage or loss that result only because  of:

  1. A cause independent of human control that occurs after the goods leave our  control
  2. An act, default or omission of, or any representation made by any person (other than Us or our employee or agent)
  • The fact that the price charged by the supplier was higher than our recommended retail price or the average retail price for the goods
