What to consider before you buy a black shower head
Solid brass vs ABS plastic
Solid brass with matte black PVD coating is the standard construction across most of this range and holds the finish well under daily use. Some entry-level heads use ABS plastic, which is lighter and more affordable but won't have the same weight or longevity as brass. Check the individual product page for the exact material before ordering if this matters to you.
We'd also always check the rough-in connection before ordering an overhead shower head - standard ½" BSP threads suit most existing Australian wall mixers, but ceiling-mounted installs need a separate ceiling mount kit with extension rods, which isn't always included with the head itself.
Shower arm length and reach
A standard shower arm suits most installs, but a high-rise or gooseneck arm gives you more clearance over a deep bath or alcove. Confirm the rose size and arm length work together before ordering - a 300mm rose on a short arm can sit too close to the wall to use comfortably.
WELS rating and water pressure
