Why choose a Ventair Glacier DC ceiling fan
The Glacier DC is the most affordable way into a DC fan with a remote in our Ventair range. Every model ships with a five-speed RF remote and a 1, 2 or 4-hour timer, so you can drift off with the fan on and wake up with it off. A 1400mm Glacier DC in white sits at around $275 with the remote already in the box.
Running costs are about as low as fans get. The 900mm draws just 2.5W on its lowest speed and 23W flat out, and even the 1400mm tops out at 32W while moving up to 13,460m³/h. Glass fibre composite blades keep things strong and quiet, every model reverses for winter, and the range is backed by a five-year warranty (two years in-home plus three years motor replacement).

- Glacier DC fans without a light: Fan-only models in white or black, from 900mm to 1400mm, for rooms already lit by downlights or covered patios where you'd rather not have a light drawing insects.
- Glacier DC fans with LED light: A 20W LED panel with around 1800 lumens, switchable between warm 3000K, natural 4000K and cool 5000K, and dimmable in five steps. Available in every size and both colours.

What we'd check before you buy
Whether you also want a wall switch. The Glacier DC is remote-first, so there's no wall controller in the box. If you want one as a backup (handy when the remote goes missing between couch cushions), it's sold separately, and you need the right one: the light models take a different wall controller to the fan-only models. Check the model listed on your fan's page before ordering.
The angle of a raked ceiling. The Glacier DC suits ceilings up to 15°, which is a little less than some other Ventair fans. On steeper raked or cathedral ceilings, measure the pitch first, or look at the Spyda DC or Stanza, which suit up to 18°.
Extension rods for higher ceilings. Glacier rods come in 600mm, 900mm and 1200mm, in white or black to match the fan. They include a wiring loom, so your electrician can fit them in one go.
Your ceiling height. Blades need to sit at least 2.1m above the floor. On a standard 2.4m ceiling with an LED panel underneath, measure before you order.
Light colour for the room. The LED switches between three colour temperatures, so you're not locked in. Bedrooms almost always end up on warm white, and living areas on natural.

Glacier DC fans start at around $230 for a 900mm or 1200mm fan-only model, with the 1300mm at around $255 and the 1400mm at around $275 to $290. Adding the LED light brings the 900mm and 1200mm to around $290 to $300, the 1300mm to around $320 to $325, and the 1400mm to around $345 to $355. Black sits a few dollars above white at each size. Every price includes the remote. Wall controllers and extension rods are sold separately, and installation by a licensed electrician is required.
