Ventair Sovereign DC Ceiling Fans
Shop Ventair Sovereign DC ceiling fans at Buildmat, with six metal blades, a six-speed DC motor and high-volume airflow for large rooms and covered alfresco areas. Choose from large-sweep models in finishes including white and black.
We supply the Sovereign DC to homeowners, builders and commercial fit-out teams who need to move air across a big footprint, from open-plan living areas to covered decks and cafe ceilings. The range is matched to spaces where a standard 1200mm fan barely registers. Filter by sweep and colour, and add a wall controller from our Ventair ceiling fan accessories.
Why choose a Ventair Sovereign DC ceiling fan
The Sovereign DC is designed for the rooms smaller fans can't reach. Metal blades set at a steep 40° pitch push serious volume, even at low speed. The 1800mm model moves 12,485m³/h on its lowest setting while drawing just 9W, and reaches 24,161m³/h at full speed on 75W.
It's also built for life outside. Epoxy-coated components give it extra corrosion resistance under a covered alfresco or patio, and the six-blade profile reads more architectural than residential, which suits high ceilings, warehouse conversions and hospitality spaces. Control comes from a remote with summer/winter reverse and a 1, 4 or 8-hour timer, and Ventair backs the range with a two-year in-home warranty plus four years of motor replacement. Check each product listing for the current warranty terms on that model.

What we'd check before you buy
Your ceiling height, first. This is the one we see catch people out most. The Sovereign drops 458mm from ceiling to blade, and blades need to sit at least 2.1m off the floor. That puts the practical minimum at around 2.6m, so it won't suit a standard 2.4m ceiling without breaking the clearance rule.
Clearance around the blades. An 1800mm fan reaches 900mm out from its centre point. In alfresco areas, measure from the mounting point to the nearest beam, post or gutter before you order, and leave a buffer. Ventair's angled-ceiling rating covers pitch only, not obstructions.
The pitch of a raked ceiling. The Sovereign suits angled ceilings up to 18°, which covers most raked living areas and skillion-roof patios. On a steeper cathedral ceiling, check the pitch with your electrician first.
How you'll switch it. If you're replacing an old AC fan, your existing rotary wall switch won't run a DC motor on its own. Ventair's DC wall controls come in versions for fans with and without a light, so match the controller to your setup. Each product listing shows what's in the box.
Whether you want a light. Ventair offers a dimmable CCT LED light kit for the Sovereign as an accessory, so check the product listing to see whether a light is included on the model you're looking at. Customers putting these on a patio often skip the light, since it draws insects to exactly where people are sitting.
Salt air. Epoxy coating helps near the coast, but Ventair's warranty still expects the finish to be maintained. A wipe-down every few weeks keeps salt from sitting on the motor housing and blades.
