Can I Use the Same Tiles on Floors and Walls?
Yes, and we see it done a lot in modern bathrooms. Using the same tile on both the floor and walls creates a seamless, continuous look that makes the space feel larger and more cohesive. It works particularly well in small bathrooms and ensuites where you want to avoid visual interruptions.
The thing to check is the slip resistance rating. A tile that's suitable for walls may not be rated for wet area floors. We'd suggest confirming the P-rating before using a wall tile on the floor. Most tiles rated P3 or above are suitable for both.
The other consideration is grout line direction. If you're using the same tile on floors and walls, your tiler will need to decide whether to continue the grout lines from floor to wall or break them at the junction. Continuing them creates a very clean, architectural look but requires precise setting out.
