Why Choose a Double Vanity Bathroom?

A double vanity solves the most common complaint about shared bathrooms: two people, one sink, one mirror, and no good solution. With a double sink vanity, each person has their own basin, their own side of the bench, and their own drawer space.

Beyond the practicality, a double vanity bathroom also reads as a premium feature. In master bathrooms especially, it's one of the details that buyers notice and value when it comes time to sell.

What We'd Check Before You Buy

  1. Wall hung or freestanding. Wall hung vanities need solid framing across the full 1500 or 1800mm span. Confirm this with your builder before ordering — retrofitting framing after waterproofing is a significant job.
  2. Cabinet only or with top. Most units in our range are cabinet only at the entry price point. Factor in a benchtop, undermount basins or above counter basins, and basin wastes from the start — they add up.
  3. Double vanity sizes. Standard widths are 1500mm and 1800mm. Measure the wall carefully, but also check door swings, toilet clearance, and any bulkheads. It's the thing customers tell us most often that they wish they'd checked earlier.
  4. Tapware finish. You'll need two sets of basin tapware. Lock in your finish (brushed nickel, brushed brass, or matte black) before buying, so handles, taps, and accessories all sit in the same family.
  5. Storage above the vanity. Most units include soft-closing drawers across the full width. If you need storage above, shaving cabinets are easier to plan in before the mirrors go up.

Finish the Whole Space

A double vanity bathroom needs everything doubled up. Two sets of basin tapware, handles across the full width, and a mirror or pair of bathroom mirrors sized to fill the wall above properly.

Shop by Brand

Otti carries the widest double vanity range we stock. Wall hung units in white, black oak, woodland oak, natural oak and sable walnut across 1500mm and 1800mm widths. Cabinet only and complete packages with integrated double bowl tops available. The Byron and Bondi ranges are the most popular for master bathrooms.

Aulic sits at the premium end of the collection. Harvest Oak fluted profiles, framed mirror details, and freestanding formats that read more like furniture than cabinetry. The Venetta and Voulari framed ranges are standouts for buyers wanting a more considered, design-led result.

ADP offers a smaller selection focused on the custom vanity end of the range, with all-drawer designs and soft-close mechanisms throughout. Worth considering if you want a cleaner, more minimal look without visible door panels.

How to Choose the Best Bathroom Vanity: A Guide for Renovators (2026)

The vanity is the workhorse of your bathroom. It sets the style, holds your storage, and anchors the entire space. Here's how to find the perfect vanity for your home.

FAQS

Double vanities in Australia typically come in 1200mm, 1500mm and 1800mm widths. We recommend 1500mm as the practical minimum for two people using the vanity at the same time (1200mm can feel tight in daily use). At 1800mm, each person has generous bench space. Always measure the wall carefully and check door swings and toilet clearances before ordering.
It depends on the range. Some come with an integrated double bowl basin top, others are supplied as a cabinet only so you can choose your own basins. Always check the product listing before purchasing. Our team can advise on the best basin pairing for any double vanity in our range.
A wall hung double vanity floats off the floor, making the room feel larger and the floor easier to clean. It requires solid wall framing across the full width, so confirm this with your builder before ordering. A freestanding double vanity sits on the floor and is better suited to bathrooms where the wall framing can't support a hung unit, or where a more furniture-like look is the goal.
Yes! The Buildmat Selection Centre at Hughesdale has double vanity units on display and our team can walk you through sizing, configurations, and finish combinations.
