We supply black wall mixers to home renovators and builders across Australia. Our range covers simple shower mixers, basin and bath sets, diverters, wall-top assemblies, sensor taps, and complete kits from leading brands. Wall-mounted tapware gives a bathroom a cleaner, more deliberate feel. It frees up the vanity top, keeps the plumbing neatly controlled from the wall, and lets the spout land exactly where it needs to in the basin or bath.

  • Wall mixer taps: A standard wall mixer controls one outlet, making it a simple choice for a shower, a wall basin spout, or a bath spout. Fienza, Nero, Phoenix, Alma, Oliveri, Johnson Suisse, and Villeroy & Boch all offer different plate shapes and handle styles in black and matte black.
  • Shower wall mixers: A shower/wall mixer is for a single shower outlet, such as an overhead shower or rail shower. It is the right starting point when you are keeping the shower setup simple and do not need to switch between multiple outlets.
  • Wall mixers with diverters: A diverter mixer lets you direct water between two outlets, for example an overhead shower and a hand shower, or a bath outlet and shower rail. The collection includes round, square, oval, horizontal, and vertical diverter styles, so the functionality does not have to dictate the look.
  • Wall basin and bath mixers: These combine the mixer controls with a wall spout, creating a cleaner vanity or bath edge. Choose the spout projection carefully, particularly for an above-counter basin or a deep freestanding bath.
  • Black bath taps and spouts: Add a fixed or swivel wall spout when you want the mixer and water outlet as separate pieces. A swivel spout is a useful option over a bath or a shared bath-and-shower zone because it can be moved out of the way when needed.
  • Wall-top assemblies: Wall-top assemblies use separate hot and cold controls, rather than one single-lever mixer. They suit a more traditional look, a symmetrical wall layout, or a renovation where the existing plumbing is already set up for two separate tap points.
  • Sensor taps: Nero Mecca wall-mounted sensor taps offer a hands-free option for commercial-style bathrooms, powder rooms, or any vanity where hygiene and clean lines are the priority.

What we'd check before you buy

The rough-in before the visible trim. This is the big one. Some black wall mixer products are sold as complete kits, while others are trim kits or visible components only. Check exactly what is included and make sure the in-wall body, rough-in component, and trim are compatible before the tiler closes up the wall.

The basin or bath it's serving. Wall mixers look great, but the spout still needs to land in the right spot. For a basin, measure from the finished wall to the centre of the bowl. For a bath, allow enough reach to clear the rim without sending water straight onto the edge or back wall.

One outlet or two. A standard mixer is enough for one shower outlet or spout. If you want to switch between an overhead shower and hand shower, or between a bath spout and shower, you need a diverter. It is much cheaper and easier to get that right before the walls are finished.

Wall position and handle clearance. Decide where the controls will sit in relation to the basin, mirror, bath, shower screen, and user. A mixer can look perfectly centred on a plan but feel awkward in use if the handle is too close to the wall, mirror, or shower screen.

What will remain visible below the vanity. With a wall-hung vanity, the tap is only one part of the picture. Bring the look together with a matching black bottle trap and black basin waste if the plumbing will be on show.

What we regularly see: Wall mixers make a vanity feel calmer because the benchtop is not crowded by tapware. The trade-off is that there is less room for error, so we would always settle the basin height, wall set-out, and spout length before anyone starts waterproofing or tiling.

Black wall mixer prices at Buildmat

Wall spouts, basic mixer plates, and wall-top assemblies sit at the more accessible end of the range. Standard wall mixers and mixer-plus-spout sets sit through the middle, where you are paying for the visible controls, water outlet, and internal function. Complete kits, diverter systems, sensor taps, premium wall basin/bath sets, and specialist SwitchMix products sit at the premium end because they include more components or solve a more specific installation need.

Finish the whole bathroom

Pair it with black basins, black basin mixers, and matte black tapware if you are carrying the finish across the full wet area.

For a wall-hung vanity, add a basin waste and bottle trap that will not interrupt the view below the basin. Then bring black into the practical details too, with black bathroom shelves, black towel rails, and matching shower hardware.

If you are still working through the finish direction, compare black with white bathroom taps, brushed nickel basin mixers, or brushed brass bathroom tapware. The right choice is the one that works with your tile, vanity, basin, and the amount of contrast you want in the room.

FAQS

It depends on the basin rim height, the spout projection, and where you want the water to land in the bowl. Your plumber should confirm the finished set-out from the actual basin specification, not from a generic measurement taken before the vanity and tile are selected.
They can in hard water areas, but regular cleaning keeps them looking sharp. Use a soft cloth, warm water, and a mild cleaner, then avoid abrasive pads, bleach-heavy sprays, and harsh chemicals that can damage a surface finish.
Only if you are switching between two water outlets. For example, a diverter is useful for an overhead shower plus hand shower, or a bath spout plus shower rail. For one outlet, a standard wall mixer is the simpler choice.
