Phoenix Vivid Filtered Sink Mixer 220mm Gooseneck Chrome

Clean, fresh-tasting water straight from your tap makes a real difference to drinking, cooking and your family's health. Here's how to choose the right water filter system for your home.

1. Decide what type of system you need

• Kitchen water filters: Install under your sink for filtered drinking and cooking water—convenient and out of sight.
• Whole house water filters: Filter all the water coming into your home, protecting appliances and giving you filtered water at every tap and shower.
• Outdoor water filters: Perfect for caravans, camping, or outdoor kitchens where you need clean water on the go.

2. Choose your tap setup

You'll need a way to access your filtered water. Here are your main options:

• Filtered water taps: A separate tap just for filtered water – simple and affordable.
• 3-way mixer taps: One tap does it all – hot, cold, and filtered water – saves sink space and looks cleaner.
• Zip Water taps: Instant boiling, chilled, and sparkling filtered water all from one tap – perfect if you want convenience and love the extras.

3. Think about what your water needs

If your water tastes fine but you just want to remove chlorine and improve taste, a basic undersink filter works beautifully. If you have harder water, sediment, or want to remove more contaminants, look for multi-stage filtration systems that handle more.

4. Think about installation

Most undersink systems are straightforward for a plumber to install. Premium systems like need more space under the sink and sometimes a power connection, so check dimensions and requirements before you buy.

5. Set your budget

Basic undersink water filters with a separate tap start around $300–$600. 3-way mixer systems sit between $600–$1,200. Premium systems range from $2,000–$4,000+, depending on features. Think about how much you'll use it and if you're buying bottled water regularly, a filter system often pays for itself.
