Towel Rings
Buildmat stocks hand towel rings for renovators, builders and homeowners across Australia, with the range covering wall-mounted rings across more than a dozen finishes, from Nero through to premium Villeroy & Boch and Argent, all built for everyday bathroom use.
Towel ring, towel rail or robe hook?
A towel ring holds a hand towel folded over a wall-mounted loop — the standard choice next to a basin for hand drying. A towel rail is longer and suits a bath towel hung flat, while a heated towel rail does the same job with warmth built in. A robe hook is for hanging a robe or a towel by one corner rather than folding it over a rail. Most bathrooms end up using a towel ring near the basin and a towel rail or ladder near the bath or shower, in the same finish.

-
Nero: By far the widest range here — Mecca, Dolce II, New Mecca, York, Opal and Zen, spanning chrome through to brushed gold, gunmetal and graphite. The most affordable entry point in the collection.
-
Caroma: The Liano II range in chrome, brushed brass, brushed nickel, gunmetal and matte black.
-
Fienza: Lillian and Kaya ranges, including urban brass and brushed copper finishes alongside the standard chrome and matte black.
-
Oliveri: The Madrid range, including a classic gold finish alongside chrome, matte black and gunmetal.
-
ADP: Soul and Eternal ranges, both available in a brushed copper finish that's harder to find elsewhere in this collection.
-
Villeroy & Boch and Argent: Architectura, Avia 2.0 and Mondrian Neu sit at the top of the range — these are the premium options if you want a heavier, more substantial ring.
What we'd check before you buy
-
Match your tapware finish, not just your towel rail. A towel ring sits right next to the basin, so it's the easiest piece of hardware to get visibly wrong if it doesn't match your tapware. Check your tap finish name against the ring finish name exactly — "brushed gold" and "brushed brass" from different brands can sit a shade apart in person.
-
Hand towel ring vs full towel ring. Most products in this range are sized for a hand towel specifically. If you actually want to hang a full bath towel folded over a ring, check the listing — some Nero York and Caroma Liano II rings are sized larger and can take more than a hand towel.
-
Wall fixing. Towel rings are generally screw-fixed into a stud, noggin or wall plug, not just stuck on. If you're renovating, it's worth confirming fixing points before the wall goes back together, especially on a feather or stone-look wall sheet that doesn't take a standard plug well.
-
Price reflects more than just the metal. Nero's entry-level rings and Villeroy & Boch's premium rings can be 3-4x apart in price for what looks like a similar ring in photos. The difference is usually in the mechanism (how the ring pivots and locks) and the thickness of the base metal before plating — worth handling both in the showroom if you're deciding between tiers.
Towel ring prices at Buildmat
Towel rings here span a wide range. Nero's entry-level chrome and matte black rings start from around $40 to $60. Mid-range finishes — brushed nickel, brushed gold, brushed bronze and gunmetal — run from around $60 to $120 across Nero, Caroma, Fienza and Oliveri. Premium rings from Villeroy & Boch and Argent run from around $135 to $230, reflecting the heavier construction and finish quality.
